Hi, Manuella Myburgh here from Manuella Fitness Coach!

Intermittent Fasting is something I have been researching for the past 2 - 3 years and implementing for the past year. After doing a ton of research and reading different books on the topic, I decided it was time to give it a try because the benefits seemed to good to be true.

Although these approaches can work, it wasn't until started Intermittent Fasting when I realized how truly amazing (and simple) this approach is... That said, it can be even better with a few simple tweaks that I will cover in my Good Naked Eating Plan.

Here is a little introduction you to the basics of Intermittent Fasting and how you can quickly get started...

WHAT IS INTERMITTENT FASTING?

Intermittent Fasting can be defined as an Eating Pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and periods of not eating (AKA fasting). It's really that simple. Now...

There are many different Intermittent Fasting protocols out there, however, the basics are very much the same. You have a period of eating, followed by a period of fasting, and repeat. A popular example that you may already be familiar with, is fasting for 16 hours and then having an 8 hour "eating window" where you eat all of your meals for the day. Now...

The main issue I have with the majority of Intermittent Fasting Protocols out there (including the example above) is that they are far too strict. And if you are anything like me, strict or extreme diets are not your style. On request I will send you a Document, where I will dive deeper into my go-to Intermittent FastingProtocol that is much more flexible and enjoyable...

SO HOW DOES INTERMITTENT FASTING WORK?

Now that you have a general understanding of what Intermittent Fasting is, let's cover exactly how it works...

One of the main reasons Intermittent Fasting is such a good approach is because your body responds differently when you are in a "fasted" state compared to when you are in a "feasted" state (i.e. consuming food).

When you eat, your body will spend the next few hours breaking down that food and use it as energy. And as you already know, your body needs this energy in order to function properly. Now, during the fasted state...

Your body doesn't have that readily available energy (i.e. the calories from the foods you eat), so it looks for something else to use as energy. And your body is then more likely to use fat as energy because it's the most readily available.

Even better, Intermittent Fasting can help teach your body to use the food you consume more efficiently. In short, you are keeping your body at optimal fat burning levels.

WHY SHOULD YOU INCLUDE INTERMITTENT FASTING?

Now that we covered the "what" and "how" of Intermittent Fasting, let's get down to the real question of WHY you should include it...

First and foremost, Intermittent Fasting is flexible. It teaches you to listen to your body, your hunger levels, and it takes off the pressure of having your life revolve around a diet.

I don't know about you, but I do NOT want to feel like I am dieting all the time.

And that's part of the reason I love Intermittent Fasting so much. We all know the feeling of restricting because you "aren't allowed to eat more" or the feeling of having to eat every 2-3 hours. With Intermittent Fasting, you don't need to focus on these things.

I will cover more on the exact approach that I use that's flexible and more enjoyable than any Intermittent Fasting Protocol that I've come across...

Second, Intermittent Fasting SIMPLIFIES your nutrition. Instead of worrying about counting calories or weighing food or eating every 2-3 hours or meal prepping 5 meals to bring with you, you simply focus on eating your meals during your eating window (see more about how to find your eating window on the  document I will send you on request). Plus, this allows for you to enjoy bigger meals and to be more flexible with the foods you eat.

Like I mentioned earlier, I am NOT a fan of strict or extreme diets. Which is why when I say "eating window", that doesn't mean a strict rule for each day. Instead, it's more flexible.

Third, Intermittent Fasting can help you reach your goals. Whether your goal is to lose weight, burn fat, get lean, or even gain some muscle, Intermittent Fasting can be a great way to help you get there. Plus...

You will do it in a flexible and enjoyable fashion. Now...
